CSC offers a new hosting service for Oracle database. It is geared towards mid level companies that cannot afford the IT costs of an inhouse Oracle database. With the current shakeup in the finanical services industry, this could have big appeal.

Well, today is just full of major releases. Between Adobe, Oracle Open World, and now Google has released probably the most rumored product of their company.
Yes, the Andriod Phone details are now released to public. T-Mobile is the carrier for the US, selling the G1 model starting Oct 22. The phone built by HTC of Taiwan has had many fake pictures of it foating around for years. Both pictures of the phone and the OS had Google engineers alternating between frustation with the rumored stories and laughing fits at the strange photoshopped creations of the internet rumor mills.
Wow! Too much to cover right now as I have to head over to Oracle Open World. But, so many great features. I think the many digital asset management features will become standard tools for professionals. I'm eager to check out the transcript feature for audio.
I had a great time at the Blogger and Press party. I will have some interesting collaborations with other bloggers and members of the press coming up in the near future. Stay tuned!
Adobe does it big launch of Creative Suite 4 Tuesday morning. Excitement is building because of rumored major new features. I will say that Adobe employees look even more excited and happy than usual before a release.
As frequent readers of my blog know, I believe one of the largest growth industries in technology will be the merging of traditional networking and software companies products with the digital asset management issues of new and old media. But despite what the title of this article might infer, this story won't be about that topic!
However, it does point to two key trends:
1) Oracle continues it strong lead in providing finance and HR departments the robust databases needed to track information in enterprise organizations.
2) Customers love Microsoft's Excels front end.
One company members have been asking for more information on is Embarcadero Technologies. I have yet to make it to there booth, but I will swing by in the next few days. Like many of you, I'm eager to see their 3rdRail IDE. If your not aware of it, it is one of their latest additions to the highly regarded CodeGear line for developers. This one covers the newest most popular kid on the block - Ruby on Rails. Look for a more detailed report in the future.
If you are not familiar with Embarcadeo Technologies CodeGear and DatabaseGear products, you should definitely check them out.
The members only technology reports are temporary unavailable while I reorganize this section. I'll be adding several new reports into this area. I'm sorry for any issues this may cause.
As you may be aware several major technology companies are planning big announcements in the next few weeks - so there will be a lot to cover!
